Bryan Blakeman
Bryan is a 1994 graduate of Boardman High School. He attended Bowling Green State University and majored in Business. He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Lauren (22) and Lexi (19). Bryan resides in Columbiana with his Partner Betsy Theodore, her daughter Vivian, and their exchange student Nina, from Brazil. Bryan works two full times jobs, both in the private and public sector. He is the General Manager and runs the day to day operations of his parents family business, Valley Office Solutions, in Boardman, Ohio. He has worked there for 28 years. The company is celebrating its 40th anniversary this October. The company is a family owned service provider of I.T. Services and Business Technologies. In the public sector, Bryan served 4 years on Columbiana City Council before running for Mayor. As Mayor of the city of Columbiana for two terms, his community was chosen as “the nicest place in America” in 2019. His largest economic accomplishment as mayor was implementing city wide tax abatements that have created a resurgence of new residential, commercial, and industrial growth in the community. To date, the abatements have created over $150,000,000 in economic development with creation or retention of over 500 jobs. Now as Columbiana County treasurer, Bryan has implemented aggressive investment strategies to take advantage of the current markets, which have created earning 400% larger than when he took over the office. He has also firmly but fairly been trying to rectify the backlog of tax delinquencies within the county. In his spare time, he has a passion for foreign travel, reading, snow skiing, fishing, and loving life!
